Five Injured in Central Line Intrusion Accident Caused by Suspected Ice on Road in Mangwoo-dong, Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] At around 9:45 a.m. on the 5th, five people were injured in a head-on collision caused by crossing the center line on an 8-lane road near Geumran Church in Mangu-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul.
On that morning, a Hyundai Avante driven by Mr. A, in his 50s, crashed into the central divider, crossed the center line, and collided consecutively with an oncoming truck and a passenger car. As a result of the accident, five people, including Mr. A and the drivers of the other vehicles, sustained injuries to their waists and necks and were transported to a nearby hospital. It is reported that none of the injuries are life-threatening.

A police official stated, "It is presumed that the accident occurred due to road surface freezing." The police plan to summon the parties involved for investigation once they recover, and will analyze vehicle black boxes and nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
