Fujifilm Unveils Compact Camera 'X100V'
X100 Series 5th Model
Equipped with 23mm F2 Lens
Rear LCD Touch Screen
[Asia Economy Reporter Jinju Han] Fujifilm has unveiled the premium compact camera 'Fujifilm X100V'.
Fujifilm announced on the 4th (local time) during the live 'X Summit 2020' held in London, UK, that it had revealed the fifth model of the X100 series, the 'X100V'.
The X100V features excellent performance with a high-resolution fixed lens, a hybrid viewfinder, and a unique classic design reminiscent of an RF camera. Aluminum material was used on the top and bottom of the body, and improvements were made to the camera grip, ISO dial, and lens barrel.
The X100V is also equipped with the latest image sensor and processor applied to the flagship line. The 26.1-megapixel ‘X-TransTM CMOS 4’ is a backside-illuminated sensor that enhances image quality and suppresses moir? patterns and chromatic aberrations that occur when shooting patterned subjects. Together with the high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 4, it delivers fast data processing performance and precise AF even in extremely low-light environments down to -5EV.
For the first time in the X100 series, a rear tilt and touch-enabled LCD screen is included. Using the rear LCD screen allows shooting from various angles, and the touchscreen lets users intuitively adjust shooting settings. The built-in Fujinon XF23mmF2 lens offers a bright aperture value for rich resolution and reduces image distortion.
The 4K video function also draws attention. The X100V supports 4K (3820x2150) video recording at 30 frames per second (fps). At 1080P, it can shoot up to 120 fps for slow-motion playback, and supports 4:2:2 10bit HDMI output for professional video recording.
Fujifilm’s proprietary technology ‘Film Simulation’ includes 17 types, featuring the video-specialized ‘Eterna’ and the new ‘Classic Neg’. Additionally, Color Chrome Effect and Monochrome color options allow users to preview various results during video shooting.
