'“Sewol Ferry Memorial” Video Contest to Be Held'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is holding the '2020 Remember 0416 Youth Video Contest' in collaboration with the 4·16 Foundation to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry disaster, honor the victims, and promote a culture of safety.
The contest themes are 'Commemoration of the Sewol Ferry Disaster' and 'Student Safety,' and any elementary, middle, or high school student nationwide, as well as out-of-school youth, can participate. The contest categories include ▲Film ▲Documentary ▲Public Service Advertisement ▲Other UCC (User Created Content).
Submissions are accepted from March 16 to 27 and should be uploaded to the webhard website (http://www.webhard.co.kr).
The Gyeonggi Office of Education will select 10 outstanding works and award the winners with the Superintendent's Award and a 200,000 KRW scholarship from the 4·16 Foundation.
The list of winners will be announced on April 3 on the Gyeonggi Office of Education website (http://www.goe.go.kr).
Song Heung-bae, Head of the Ansan Education Recovery Support Group at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, explained, "We hope that students themselves will create videos to remember the Sewol Ferry disaster and share its lessons, thereby serving as an opportunity to spread a culture of student safety."
