Second Charter Flight Carrying Wuhan Evacuees Arrives at Gimpo Airport... "More Symptomatic Passengers Present"
"Four People Show Symptoms Including Fever Before Boarding Charter Flight, Two More Show Symptoms Onboard"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Some of the Korean residents who arrived at Gimpo International Airport on a government charter flight from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), reportedly showed suspicious symptoms such as fever.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related agencies on the 31st, Korean Air flight KE9884 carrying 333 residents from Wuhan departed Wuhan Tianhe Airport at 6:18 a.m. and arrived at Gimpo Airport around 8:12 a.m.
The residents disembarked from the charter flight sequentially from around 8:40 a.m. and underwent quarantine procedures such as fever checks and filling out health questionnaires at a temporary quarantine station set up on the apron. Except for those who showed symptoms such as fever, the residents proceeded with additional quarantine and immigration procedures at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) before moving sequentially to temporary living facilities in Asan, Chungnam, and Jincheon, Chungbuk.
Among them, some of the Wuhan residents on the charter flight reportedly showed symptoms such as fever. According to the police, four people showed suspicious symptoms before boarding the charter flight, and an additional two people were found to have fever during the in-flight temperature check. A police official explained, "Symptomatic individuals will be transported via prepared ambulances."

Meanwhile, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 18 symptomatic individuals were confirmed on the first charter flight the previous day and were isolated at Chung-Ang University Hospital and the National Medical Center.
