Cha Mi-jeong Promoted to Executive Director, First Female Executive in the Corporate Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Samsung C&T Corporation's Trading Division has carried out promotions of senior executives as part of strengthening leadership for future growth. Kim Yong-su, Head of the Management Support Team, and Park Ho-chan, Head of the Steel Business Division, were promoted to Vice Presidents, and Group Leader Chae Mi-jung became the first female executive in the Trading Division.
On the 30th, Samsung C&T's Trading Division announced its 2020 regular executive appointments, including the promotion of two Vice Presidents, two Executive Directors, and four Managing Directors. Among the senior executives, Kim Yong-su, Head of the Management Support Team, and Park Ho-chan, Head of the Steel Business Division, were promoted to Vice Presidents.
Vice President Kim was included among the promotion candidates in recognition of his role in improving the financial structure through enhancing major investment projects while serving as Head of the Management Support Team. Vice President Park was acknowledged for establishing a stable operational system for the business by expanding steel trading profits.

View original imageVice President Kim graduated from Sogang University with a degree in Business Administration and has held positions such as Head of the Planning Team at Samsung C&T, General Manager for Southeast Asia and Oceania, and Head of the Management Support Team. Vice President Park earned a master's degree in Economics from Yonsei University and has served as Head of Steel Team 2 at Samsung C&T, General Manager of China Business, and Head of the Steel Business Division.
This personnel appointment also marked the first female executive in the Trading Division. Group Leader Chae Mi-jung, the protagonist, was highly evaluated for her contribution to establishing growth strategies and concretizing plans for the Trading Division.
