Japan Establishes 'Wuhan Pneumonia' Government-Wide Task Force Led by Prime Minister

Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga Yoshihide announced on the 29th, "To prevent the spread of infection, it has been decided that the Cabinet will approve the establishment of a task force headed by the Prime Minister tomorrow."
Until now, the Japanese government has responded by holding two meetings of relevant ministers and having related ministries cooperate to prepare countermeasures.
The Japanese government has designated the novel coronavirus as a "designated infectious disease," meaning measures such as compulsory hospitalization of patients and employment restrictions are possible. These measures will take effect on the 7th of next month.
