Jeonnam National Seed Management Office Accepting Applications for '2019 Soybean and Red Bean Certified Seeds'
From March 3 to March 17
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Branch of the National Seed Management Office (Director Kim Byungjun) announced on the 28th that it will accept applications for the '2019 Soybean and Red Bean Certified Seeds' from March 3 to March 17.
Applications can be submitted through the Agricultural Technology Centers of cities and counties in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeonnam Province, or through the Eup, Myeon, and Dong Community Centers (including Agricultural Counseling Offices).
The available varieties for application are 5 types totaling 198.7 tons: Daewon Kong 50 tons, Daechankong 20 tons, Taegwang Kong 40 tons, Pungsan Namul Kong 85 tons, and Arari Pat 3.7 tons.
When applying for certified seeds, soybeans can be requested as either treated or untreated seeds, while red beans can only be requested as untreated seeds.
Additionally, farmers who apply for untreated seeds must perform their own seed treatment before sowing to prevent diseases.
The certified seeds applied for will be supplied to the applicants through the local agricultural cooperatives from April 1 to May 11.
The supply price for certified seeds is 25,510 KRW per 5kg bag for soybeans (same price for treated and untreated), and 43,860 KRW per 5kg bag for red beans (untreated).
