View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul City announced on the 28th that it will pilot the 'separate collection system' starting next month, requiring the disposal of waste vinyl and transparent PET bottles on designated days of the week.
Detached houses and commercial establishments must dispose of waste vinyl and transparent PET bottles every Thursday, while other recyclables should be put out on days other than Thursday.
Depending on the district, the disposal day may be designated as Friday. In the case of multi-family housing (apartments), separation and disposal can be done regardless of the day of the week.
The city expects that the day-based system will "allow separate processing at public sorting centers, thereby increasing the recycling rate."
