CCTV Installation at Former Dong Community Centers in Gangdong-gu
Replacement and Additional Installation of CCTV at All 17 Dong Community Centers in Gangdong-gu... Emergency Bell Installation Completed in September Last Year to Enhance Response to Urgent Situations
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will replace and additionally install CCTV cameras in all community service centers within the district by the end of this month to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
The district currently operates CCTV cameras with resolutions ranging from 400,000 to 1 million pixels in 11 out of 17 community service center civil service offices. However, only one camera is installed per office, creating blind spots, and the video resolution is low with a short storage period, making it difficult to expect effective crime prevention and safety assurance.
Accordingly, the district plans to replace all outdated CCTV cameras currently installed with 2 million pixel cameras and increase the number to four per office to enhance the safety of employees and residents. This aims to reduce residents' exposure to unprotected sudden incidents and alleviate employees' anxiety caused by malicious complaints.
Additionally, in September last year, the district installed emergency bells in the district office building and all community service center civil service offices to strengthen response capabilities to emergencies. When the emergency bell is activated, a 112 report is automatically received, and a text message is sent to patrol cars. Real-time communication is also possible through the built-in microphone and speaker.
