Gimhae City Supports Jeonse Loan Interest for Homeless Newlywed Couples
First 400 Million Won Investment This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City will support the interest on jeonse loan funds for newlywed couples without housing starting this year.
This policy aims to encourage marriage and increase the birth rate by reducing the housing burden on newlywed couples, contributing to population growth. For the first year, a budget of 400 million KRW has been allocated.
The jeonse loan interest will be supported up to 1.5% of the loan balance, with a maximum of 1 million KRW once a year for up to 5 years. If there are many applicants, recipients will be selected within the budget based on evaluation criteria such as the number of children, disability status, duration of residence in Gimhae City, and applicant's age.
The support target is newlywed households within 5 years of marriage, both spouses registered at the same address in Gimhae City as of the 20th. They must reside in rental housing with a loan amount of 150 million KRW or less and have a household income at or below 180% of the median income, and have received a jeonse loan from a financial institution.
However, recipients of basic livelihood security, residents of permanent rental housing, national rental housing, Happy Housing, LH purchased rental housing, LH jeonse rental housing, or those who have signed a lease contract with a first-degree lineal relative or spouse are excluded from support.
Applications can be submitted at each eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare center from the 3rd to the 20th of next month.
A city official stated, "We will continue to implement the jeonse loan interest support project for newlywed couples without housing to stabilize their housing. We will do our best to promote housing welfare projects so that Gimhae becomes a happy city where it is good to live after marriage."
