[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) held a "New Year's Rice Cake Soup Sharing Event" for the elderly in the community on the 17th at the Junggok 4-dong Community Center Village Vitality Center (underground cafeteria).
This event, hosted by the Junggok 4-dong self-help group for neighbors "Seonsaemgol," was organized to wish for the health and longevity of the elderly in the area and to share warm affection among neighbors.
At the event, about 300 elderly residents from the area were invited to enjoy rice cake soup, dumplings, fruits, and other refreshments prepared by "Seonsaemgol," sharing meaningful New Year's greetings.
"Seonsaemgol" has been practicing neighborly love by organizing various sharing events for the local community every year, including last summer's "Samgyetang Sharing Event for Chobok (the first of the three hottest days of summer)."
In addition, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the district plans to support six local welfare facilities with holiday gifts on the 20th, organized by the Junggok 3-dong Community Security Council.
Also, on the 21st, rice cake soup sharing events for the elderly will be held at the Gwangjin-gu Saemaeul Hall and the 4th-floor auditorium of the Guui 1-dong Community Center.
