Kibo, Establishes 'Daejeon Cultural Content Finance Team'... Fostering Regional Content Industry
From New Guarantees to Consulting for Cultural Content Companies in the Central Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jeong Yun-mo, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 17th that it has recently established the "Daejeon Cultural Contents Finance Team (hereinafter Daejeon Finance Team)" dedicated to supporting cultural contents companies in the central region, including Daejeon, to foster the cultural contents industry, which is gaining attention as a future growth engine industry.
The Daejeon Finance Team will provide local cultural contents companies with ▲ support for cultural industry completion guarantees and general guarantees ▲ non-financial evaluation support such as venture company and Inno-Biz company selection evaluations ▲ post-management such as content production process management ▲ establishment of a cooperative system with related organizations in the Daejeon area. The cultural industry completion guarantee to be supported through the establishment of the Daejeon Finance Team is a specialized system for the cultural contents sector that actively reflects the characteristics of the content industry based on imagination and creativity, unlike equipment-centered manufacturing industries. To ensure smooth funding even at the content planning stage, production costs are supported focusing on content such as production performance and content competitiveness rather than company evaluation.
With the establishment of the Daejeon Finance Team, it is expected that the inconvenience of customers traveling back and forth between Seoul and Gyeonggi-do due to the lack of a dedicated cultural contents organization responsible for the central region, including Daejeon, will be resolved. Kibo plans to provide total corporate support services including consulting as well as approximately 40 billion KRW in new guarantee support annually to content companies in the central region, and to further expand the scale of support by promoting the establishment of a Cultural Contents Finance Center in Daejeon through consultations with relevant government ministries.

With the establishment of the Daejeon Finance Team, Kibo has built four dedicated cultural contents organizations in Seoul, Busan, Gyeonggi-do, and Daejeon, and plans to continue establishing centers focusing on regional cultural industry hub areas to expand the infrastructure of the cultural contents industry, which is concentrated in the metropolitan area, to other regions. Chairman Jeong Yun-mo of Kibo said, "Through the establishment of the Daejeon Finance Team, Kibo will actively foster content companies in the central region, which have been neglected in financial support compared to the metropolitan area, contribute to balanced regional development, support the commercialization of local cultural contents companies, and actively strive to create quality jobs and revitalize the regional economy."
