Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Received an Average of 1,512 Reports Daily Last Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon), the 119 Integrated Situation Room received an average of 1,512 disaster reports per day last year.
On the 10th, Jeonnam Fire reported that the total number of reports received by the Jeonnam 119 Integrated Situation Room over the past year was approximately 550,000.
The number of dispatches to fire and various incident and accident sites to protect the lives and property of residents totaled 185,680, averaging 508 times per day and 21 times per hour.
The number of fires last year was 2,645, an increase of 10 cases (0.4%) compared to the previous year.
Casualties included 23 deaths and 101 injuries, totaling 124 people, which was a 26.5% increase from the previous year, while property damage amounted to approximately 26.4 billion KRW, a decrease of 6.7%.
The causes of fires were 58.1% negligence, 20.2% electrical, and 9.0% mechanical. By location, residential facilities accounted for 21.8%, roads and others 19.1%, and forest areas 15.7%.
Rescue dispatches totaled 44,147, an increase of 16.1% from the previous year. On average, 121 dispatches were made daily, rescuing 11 people.
The main reasons were removal of beehives (25.02%), animal capture (17.74%), and traffic accidents (14.39%).
In particular, due to frequent typhoons last year, natural disaster rescue cases increased by 53.3% compared to the previous year.
Ambulance dispatches totaled 138,288, a 5.3% increase from the previous year. On average, 378 dispatches were made daily, transporting 231 patients to hospitals.
The reasons for patient transport by type were illness and accident injuries at 58.7% and 23%, respectively. The number of illness patient transports increased significantly by 22.6% compared to the previous year.
Additionally, medical consultations conducted by the 119 Integrated Situation Room, including medical support, disease counseling, and emergency treatment explanations, totaled 38,997 cases, a 3.9% increase from the previous year.
