Regarding the upcoming plenary session schedule, he said, "On the 13th, we will vote on the amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act, and we will also ensure the prompt passage of the 'Kindergarten 3 Laws' and the amendment to the Prosecutors' Office Act."
On the morning of the 10th, at the party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Lee said, "The prosecution's insubordination that occurred during the personnel appointment process seems to be something that cannot be overlooked."
He said, "It seems that the Minister of Justice did not follow the proper procedures, but when the Minister of Justice came to the National Assembly yesterday and spoke to me, it was clear that the procedures were thoroughly followed." He also criticized, "We talked on the phone for over an hour, and after the personnel committee meeting, I asked them to share their opinions, but to say that such procedures were skipped is unacceptable."
Lee emphasized, "Rather, Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol reportedly requested to bring the list to a third location, but how could such a thing happen?" He added, "If the Prosecutor General has opinions, he should present them at the Minister of Justice's office." He continued, "Suggesting to meet at a third location infringes on the exclusive duties of the Minister of Justice, and especially since personnel matters should not be exposed externally, proposing to meet outside the government building is truly absurd."
He further pointed out, "Because the prosecution has shown such behavior until now, there have been many demands for prosecution reform," and said, "The prosecution should reflect on this incident and return to its original role."
Regarding the previous day's plenary session, Lee said, "Yesterday, the Liberty Korea Party boycotted the National Assembly, so we held a plenary session with other opposition parties, processed 198 livelihood bills, and submitted the Criminal Procedure Act," criticizing, "I thought the Liberty Korea Party would show a rare unity for the people's livelihood as the new year began, but they ultimately broke their promise." He added, "On the 13th, we will vote on the Criminal Procedure Act and strive to promptly pass the Kindergarten 3 Laws and the Prosecutors' Office Act."
