Daedong Industrial's New CEO Won Woo-hyun... "Communication and Collaboration, Aiming for a 100-Year Company"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Daedong Industrial announced on the 8th that it has appointed Won Yuhyun, Executive Director and Head of the Strategic Planning Division, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, along with executive personnel changes and organizational restructuring for 2020.
The recent personnel changes and organizational restructuring focused on strengthening the management strategy function to create future growth engines and expanding sales capabilities to maximize revenue. The new President Won Yuhyun, born in 1970, holds a master's degree in Business Administration from George Washington University. He previously worked at Samsung C&T and KTF, and served as Head of KT's Management Strategy Office and Managing Director of KT's Future Convergence Business Promotion Office.
Last year, he served as Head of Daedong Industrial's Strategic Planning Division and CEO of Jeju Daedong, focusing on establishing future management strategies as a management strategy expert. President Won plans to strengthen the competitiveness of the existing agricultural machinery business while devising new businesses to prepare for future agriculture.
President Won stated, "To lead future agriculture, we will transform into a 'communication and collaboration' company with a No.1 DNA focused on customer success and creative future agricultural ideas, thereby laying the foundation for a 100-year company."
The position of President in charge of sales was newly established. Lee Seongtae, CEO of Daedong Metal, was appointed as President in charge of sales. President Lee previously served as CEO of Hyein, a construction and industrial heavy equipment company. Since joining Daedong Metal, Daedong Industrial's engine casting parts affiliate, in 2013, he completed the construction of the second plant and increased sales to the 80 billion KRW range by 2018, earning recognition for his capabilities.
Through the organizational restructuring, Daedong Industrial significantly strengthened the roles and authority of the management strategy and sales divisions among the four divisions of management strategy, sales, factory, and research institute. Within the sales division, the overseas sales division and overseas sales headquarters, domestic sales headquarters, as well as the service sales headquarters under the factory and the marketing team of the product planning office were incorporated.
In the management strategy division, Kang Kyunggyu, Director of the Future Strategy Office, was promoted to Head of the Management Strategy Division (Managing Director). The Management Innovation Office was newly established, and the Product Planning Office was incorporated. The research institute established the Research Strategy Office and Smart System Convergence Office to handle future agricultural technologies.

Additionally, in personnel changes, Kim Donggyun, Head of the North America and Europe Division, was promoted to Head of the Overseas Sales Division (Vice President). No Jaeok, Head of the Development and Purchasing Headquarters (Managing Director), moved to the position of Factory Manager (Managing Director), and Lee Jongsun, Factory Manager of Daedong Gear (Executive Director), was appointed as Head of the Research Institute (Managing Director). Ha Changwook, who had been managing Daedong Industrial, moved to the position of Vice Chairman of Daedong Gear, an affiliate of Daedong Industrial.
