One Year After Introducing the 'Win-Win Smart Factory'... 50% of Companies Report "An Average of 2 Additional Hires"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Among companies that have adopted win-win smart factories, 50% have experienced an increase in jobs.
According to the analysis results of the 'Employment Status of Companies Establishing Win-Win Smart Factories' announced by the Korea Federation of SMEs on the 8th, 50% (239 companies) of companies that introduced win-win smart factories showed an increase in jobs. It was analyzed that an average of 2 additional employees were hired per company.
By type, the proportion of companies with job increases was highest at 72.1% in companies with smart factory establishment level of stage 3 or higher. The smart factory establishment levels are classified as stage 1 (standardization of segmentation and data management), stage 2 (real-time monitoring of production information), stage 3 (analyzing collected information for control), stage 4 (preemptive response through process operation simulation), and stage 5 (autonomous operation from monitoring to control and optimization).
The government and large corporations provide financial support to SMEs wishing to establish smart factories. This is a support system for building a win-win ecosystem. Funding is provided by classifying the establishment levels into Type A (stage 3 or higher), Type B (stage 1?2), and Type C (basic stage).
This analysis was conducted based on employment data from 478 SMEs that had introduced win-win smart factories for more than one year since 2018.

Jung Wookjo, Head of the Innovation Growth Division at the Korea Federation of SMEs, said, "The data analysis results showed that companies with relatively higher establishment levels experienced significant job growth effects," and added, "We will strive to help more SMEs raise their smart factory establishment levels to improve working conditions, create jobs, and enhance their own competitiveness."
