[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seong-yeol] Son Heung-min (28, Tottenham) revealed that he learned a lesson from his three red cards.
Last December, in the 18th round of the English Premier League (EPL) against Chelsea, Son Heung-min was sent off for a deliberate foul on defender R?diger and received a three-match suspension. It was a disappointing situation as he missed the 'Boxing Day' matches.
After serving his suspension, Son Heung-min returned on the 5th (Korean time) in the FA Cup 3rd round round of 64 match against Middlesbrough. The match ended 1-1 without much achievement, and a replay is scheduled.
Son Heung-min has received three red cards this season. In May, he was sent off for reacting harshly to Jefferson Lerma in a match against Bournemouth, and in November, he received a red card for a back tackle on Andr? Gomes.
This is an unfortunate record as the first player in nine years since Lee Cattermole (Sunderland) in 2010 to be sent off three times in one year.
In an interview with the British 'Daily Mail,' Son Heung-min said, "The three red cards were painful, but I learned a lesson from these situations."
Son said, "I don't want to talk or think about what has already passed. I want to focus only on what lies ahead. That is the most important."
He also said, "I tried to learn lessons from the three red cards that I did not want. I was frustrated, but I came back."
Son Heung-min said that he also needs the help of his teammates to fill the void left by Harry Kane, who is out due to injury.
