"Mobile Game Hybrid Genres Are the Trend"… Netmarble's 'A3: Steel Alive' Launches
Media Showcase Held on the 22nd... Combining Battle Royale and MMORPG
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Netmarble Chairman Bang Jun-hyuk’s mobile new release in the fusion genre, 'A3: Still Alive,' which he confidently predicted would become a trend, is launching its market campaign at the start of the new year. The fusion genre refers to games that combine two or more genres into one.
According to Netmarble on the 3rd, a media showcase for 'A3: Still Alive' will be held on the 22nd at Dragon City in Yongsan, Seoul. 'A3: Still Alive' was introduced at G-Star for two consecutive years from 2018 to 2019 and is attracting attention even before its release as a fusion genre game combining battle royale and massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Its strengths lie in the survival-style battle royale content where the last person standing is determined by strategy and control, and the MMORPG elements that allow players to enjoy unrestricted player killing (PK) with other server users in real time.
'A3: Still Alive' is a highly anticipated title praised by Chairman Bang Jun-hyuk at last year’s G-Star, where he stated, "Fusion genre games will become the trend in the future." Netmarble’s decision to hold a showcase and publicly reveal the game for the first time in one year and three months since October 2018’s 'Blade & Soul Revolution' reflects their confidence in its success. Additionally, as a mobile game based on Netmarble’s PC game 'A3' intellectual property (IP), it holds significant meaning for the company. Netmarble’s previous hits such as 'Lineage 2 Revolution,' 'Blade & Soul Revolution,' 'Marvel Future Fight,' and 'The Seven Deadly Sins' were all developed based on other companies’ IPs.
