View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Suwan] Jin Joong-kwon (57), former professor at Dongyang University, who proposed a public debate to President Moon Jae-in's ardent supporters while harshly criticizing them, is receiving a flood of malicious comments on his Facebook page.
As of 1:30 PM on the 3rd, about 900 comments harshly criticizing Jin, such as "an incompetent person, knowledge is at the level of a garbage dump," "go to a mental hospital," and "Jinreki (Jin Joong-kwon garbage)," have been posted on his Facebook page.
These malicious comments mainly appeared on posts where Jin proposed a debate to President Moon's ardent supporters who criticized him on the 2nd, and on posts criticizing Alileo.
On the 2nd, Jin suggested on his Facebook, "Let's have a public debate once at the end of January when I return from abroad," adding, "If you don't have the courage, realize your patheticness and voluntarily shrink yourself."
In this post, Jin also said, "Moonppa (a derogatory term for President Moon's ardent supporters), understand this: even though they are so fanatical, they are actually good people. They become wolves only within the group, but when they return to being individuals, they become as meek as a lamb. When they return to being individuals, they cannot even say a word. They leave their thinking to others, so when they leave the group, they cannot think for themselves at all."
This post became a 'coordinate' for pro-Moon netizens and has been under intense fire.
On the 1st, the JTBC New Year's special debate featured Jin, Director Yoo, Hanyang University adjunct professor Jung Jun-hee, and Kookmin University professor Lee Chang-hyun, discussing the topic "Where does Korean media stand?"
In this debate, Jin referred to the YouTube broadcast 'Alileo' hosted by Director Yoo, pointing out, "The language used by Director Yoo is the language of agitation. I dislike fantasy works, so I don't watch Alileo."
He also claimed that 'Alileo' is inciting totalitarianism like Stalin and Hitler. Jin said, "Hitler's diary was discovered, but the problem was that the paper was from the 1960s (after Hitler's death). A normal person would judge the diary as a forgery, but neo-Nazis say, 'Ah, the F?hrer is still alive,' going in the opposite direction," adding, "This is a totalitarian way of thinking."
