Lee Hyung-seok, Democratic Party Supreme Council Member, "Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon Must Be Arrested"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Hyung-seok, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated that "Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon, accused of leading violent protests, must be arrested without fail."
In a press release on the 2nd, Supreme Council Member Lee said, "The irrational and blasphemous actions of Jeon Gwang-hoon, chairman of the Korea Christian Federation (HanKiChong), have gone beyond the limit."
He explained, "Last October, at a rally condemning the government held in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, Pastor Jeon led illegal acts such as assaulting police officers and neutralizing police safety barriers when about 40 participants, including members of a North Korean defector group, attempted to march toward the Blue House. During this process, Pastor Jeon mentioned 'arresting the president' and continued acts of inciting rebellion and violating the Donation Act and Political Funds Act by collecting offerings at the rally site."
He continued, "Pastor Jeon also made statements such as 'God, don't move. If God acts up, you will die by me,' showing the utmost blasphemy that cannot be uttered by a clergyman. Free Korea Party leader Hwang Kyo-ahn has shown support by saying he is 'a person with many ideas and a very strong love for the country,' displaying a shameless behavior of politically exploiting religion."
