On the morning of the 2nd, around 9:20 a.m., Prosecutor General Yoon visited the National Cemetery to pay respects and wrote in the guestbook, "I will uphold the spirit of the patriots who devoted themselves to the country and work with the people to build a righteous prosecution service." After spending about 30 minutes at the cemetery, Yoon immediately moved to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to attend the government New Year's meeting held at 11 a.m.
From 2 p.m. that day, he will preside over a New Year's resolution meeting at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office attended by prosecution executives and staff. With the recent passage of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (Gong-su-cheo) establishment bill in the National Assembly and the prosecution-police investigation authority adjustment bill expected to be processed soon, attention is focused on whether Prosecutor General Yoon will express his position on these matters at this meeting.

Earlier, in his New Year's address, Yoon did not directly mention the Gong-su-cheo establishment bill but stated, "Significant changes in criminal procedures are expected due to the enactment and revision of criminal justice-related laws," emphasizing, "As the people's prosecution service, let us do our best to ensure that the nation's capacity to respond to corruption and crimes affecting people's livelihoods is not weakened."
