This event aims to promote the museum's publishing activities and introduce a variety of its publications. Participation is open until October 31 through the National Museum of Korea's official Bookstagram account, and the winners will be announced on November 5.

Book Giveaway Event: Over 100 Books Available on Bookstagram Until October 31

The 24 books featured in the event are divided into six categories: "Special Exhibition Catalogs," "Museum Education," "Children's Books," "Single-Volume Books," "Calligraphy and Painting Collections," and "Permanent Exhibition." Each book is assigned a number from 1 to 24. To participate, users must follow the Bookstagram account and leave a comment with the number of their preferred book.

In addition to catalogs and academic books, the museum has published a diverse range of genres, including essays, picture books, and workbooks. Since the museum's publications are produced in limited quantities with a focus on research, documentation, and visitor services rather than sales, their planning, content, and quality make them highly collectible. This event will give away more than 100 copies of 24 titles, including out-of-print editions and non-commercial publications. Featured books include the "National Museum of Korea Permanent Exhibition Catalog," "Colorful Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Dynasty," "Yumulmung," "Museum Writing," and "Doogie's Magic Jar (Korean/English)," among others.

The "Special Exhibition Catalogs" feature high-quality images and detailed explanations by curators, making them highly valuable for collectors. Since these catalogs are often unavailable after exhibitions end, the museum is offering some of its archived copies to provide visitors with a special opportunity through this event.

The "Children's Books" category includes five titles, such as "Doogie's Magic Jar (Korean/English)." These books come in various formats, including original picture books and activity books. Designed to spark children's interest in cultural heritage and make it accessible in daily life, most of these books are non-commercial editions or produced in small quantities, making them difficult to find in stores.

Additionally, the "Single-Volume Books" category features the essay collection "Yumulmung," which highlights curators' and visitors' favorite artifacts, while the "Museum Education" category includes "Museum Writing," which covers the museum's various writing processes.
