Gangbuk-gu Selects 10 "Gangbuk-Style Wellness Tourism Destinations"
Five Themes: Natural Healing, Healing & Meditation, Beauty & Spa, Stay, and Food
On May 7, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul announced the final selection of ten locations as the "2026 Gangbuk-Style Wellness Tourism Destinations."
This selection was carried out to discover facilities featuring unique healing and relaxation content distinctive to Gangbuk-gu. After document review and on-site evaluation, the destinations were categorized under five themes: natural healing, healing & meditation, beauty & spa, stay, and food. A notable feature is the integration of private sector expertise and creativity with natural resources in the Bukhansan foothills and around the Uicheon area.

In the healing & meditation category, the "Park Eulbok Embroidery Museum" and "Cheongja Kiln Experience Center" were included. Both offer immersive and restorative experiences through traditional craft activities. The "Somatic Expressive Arts Therapy Research Institute UM" operates psychological healing programs based on body movement.
A variety of stay-type destinations were also selected. In Ui-dong, "Anto" (Stay) and "Uiryeong Bulgama Jusim Sauna" were chosen, while in Beon-dong, "Harospa" (Beauty & Spa) was selected as a space for relaxation and rejuvenation away from daily life. "Juno Sand" in Suyu-dong was recognized as a wellness gourmet space based on healthy food culture.
Gangbuk-gu plans to provide step-by-step support for the selected destinations, including consulting for content and program enhancement, as well as promotional and marketing assistance. The district aims to continuously discover differentiated tourism content based on natural environments and local resources, with the goal of developing Gangbuk-gu into a wellness tourism hub within the city.
