These seniors visit local community centers to offer their services to residents. Currently, 20 seniors are participating in the program.
The "Mobile Knife Sharpening and Umbrella Repair Center" operates according to a neighborhood tour schedule, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents can check the itinerary on the district office website's "Our District News" bulletin board.
Anyone can request repairs onsite. However, to allow more residents to use the service within the limited time, each person is restricted to two knives, two pairs of scissors, and one umbrella. All repair services are completely free of charge.
In line with the increase in outdoor activities during the spring, Yeongdeungpo District is also operating a "Mobile Bicycle Repair Shop." The schedule for the first half of the year includes Yeongdeungpo Park (Yeongdeungpo-bon-dong) on April 29–30, Singil Neighborhood Park (Singil 5-dong) on May 6–7, in front of the Singil 4-dong Community Center on May 12, and Jorongbak Children's Park (Daerim 1-dong) on May 14–15.
At the Bicycle Repair Shop, residents can receive free basic inspections such as gear shifting and saddle adjustment. Parts like tires and chains can be replaced at affordable prices. Simple maintenance tips and safety education are also provided onsite.
