Kim Bohyun, CEO of Daewoo E&C, visited Austria and the Czech Republic for four days starting on the 11th to discuss the new Dukovany nuclear power plant project with key officials, the company announced on the 15th.
On the 12th, CEO Kim met with senior officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, to discuss trends in the global nuclear power market and the development of small modular reactors (SMRs). They also addressed major concerns of countries planning to introduce new nuclear plants and the potential for the Korean nuclear industry to expand overseas. The company stated that, with its participation in the Czech new nuclear project, it will continue to seek opportunities for cooperation in the international nuclear power market.
The following day, CEO Kim visited Náměšť nad Oslavou, a municipality near the planned nuclear site in the Czech Republic, to attend a fire truck donation ceremony. The event was attended by the incumbent mayor and governor, a member of the Chamber of Deputies who is a former Minister of Industry and Trade, as well as key local government officials, the head of an energy industry council composed of local municipalities, companies, and organizations, and volunteer firefighters. In the process of preparing for the Dukovany nuclear power plant project, the company determined that it was necessary to engage with local residents and strengthen firefighting infrastructure, leading to the donation of the fire truck.
