The Jeonnam Training Institute will be established as a multi-purpose educational facility on a site of approximately 33,000 square meters within the Myeongdang 3 District in Taein-dong. The total project cost of 33.4 billion won will be fully funded by the national government. The facility will be a six-story building equipped with training centers, dormitories, a convention hall, and sports facilities. Notably, some of the dormitories as well as sports facilities such as a soccer field and futsal court will be open to the public at all times, making it a citizen-friendly educational institution.

The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency is working towards completing construction by November 2027, while Gwangyang City is cooperating by providing the land free of charge and building the necessary infrastructure as part of its administrative support.

The Jeonnam Training Institute is expected to serve as a specialized educational facility offering industry-tailored programs linked to the region's key sectors, such as steel, petrochemicals, and secondary batteries, as well as training in future industries including artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing (AX), and carbon neutrality. Through these programs, approximately 3,500 people are expected to complete specialized training each year.

A Gwangyang City official stated, "The Jeonnam Training Institute for Small and Medium Venture Businesses will become an important educational foundation for nurturing talent at local SMEs and strengthening industrial competitiveness. Gwangyang City will also actively cooperate to ensure that the institute can provide practical support for the growth of local companies and young people."
