Gwangju Buk-gu Recruiting 14 Members for "No More Tax Delinquency" Management Team
Intensive Management of Five Key Items Over Four Months from August to November
Buk-gu District in Gwangju is focusing its administrative resources on collecting delinquent local taxes to strengthen fiscal soundness.
On May 12, Buk-gu announced that it will be recruiting 14 members for the "Buk-gu Local Revenue Delinquency Management Team" until May 15. The management team will be established to create an integrated management system for delinquent local taxes and non-tax revenues and to promote tax justice.
The activity period will run for four months from August to November. The team will be responsible for intensively managing five key items across three areas: local taxes, non-tax revenues, and transportation. These five items are penalty surcharges, enforcement fines, reimbursement charges, administrative fines, and levies.
The delinquent tax collection work of the management team will proceed in three stages. First, a list of delinquent taxpayers will be compiled through a preliminary investigation. Based on this data, the team will encourage payment by contacting the taxpayers by phone. If payment is still not made, the team will conduct on-site investigations, such as home visits or seizing vehicle license plates.
In particular, if reasons such as financial hardship are identified during the investigation process, the team plans to connect individuals with customized counseling and welfare services. Measures will also be taken to allow installment payments, easing the burden on the taxpayers.
The Delinquency Management Team will be finalized next month through document screening and interviews. The working conditions are five days a week, six hours a day, with an hourly wage of 13,303 won, which is the living wage set by the city of Gwangju. Residents who wish to participate can submit their application documents in accordance with the announcement posted on the Buk-gu District Office website.
