Kumho Petrochemical Donates 30 Million Won to Kyoungjoo Choi Foundation to Support Science and Engineering Talent Development
Supporting Five Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Science and Engineering Fields
Kumho Petrochemical Group announced on May 13 that it has donated 30 million won in scholarships to the Kyoungjoo Choi Foundation for students majoring in science and engineering fields.

View original imageThis scholarship will be provided to students through the "Dream Scholarship" program, which is part of the Kyoungjoo Choi Foundation's "Next Generation Support Project." The recipients are five undergraduate and graduate students in science and engineering fields such as chemical engineering, robotics, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, and information security and cryptography mathematics.
Kumho Petrochemical Group explained that it made this decision out of a belief in the need to foster talent not only in chemical engineering but also in future core industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
Chan-Koo Park, Chairman of Kumho Petrochemical Group, stated, "As human resources are the core of national competitiveness, we will continue to support the challenges of the next generation toward technological advancement for the nation."

Meanwhile, the Kyoungjoo Choi Foundation was established in 2008 in accordance with the wishes of professional golfer Kyoungjoo Choi, who advanced to the PGA Tour. Since 2010, the foundation has continued its Dream Scholarship support project for young talents who demonstrate a strong will to study and growth potential despite financial difficulties. As of last year, the foundation has provided scholarships to a total of 480 individuals, with cumulative scholarship funds amounting to approximately 2.45 billion won.
