Walking in the Footsteps of Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the Jeolla Left-Right Naval Command
Boseong, Jangseong, and Hampyeong Centers under Woosung Nanum Foundation Join Forces
'The Heart of Joseon, Visiting Jeolla Left-Right Naval Command' Program Successfully Held
The joint humanities program 'The Heart of Joseon, Visiting Jeolla Left-Right Naval Command', organized collaboratively by the Boseong County Senior Welfare Center, Jangseong County Senior Welfare Center, and Hampyeong County Senior Welfare Center—institutions under the Woosung Nanum Foundation—has successfully concluded.
This initiative was designed to trace the footsteps of the Jeolla Left-Right Naval Command and Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who defended the nation during the Japanese invasions of Korea, providing participants with an opportunity to learn about historical leadership and the spirit of community.
The program was especially significant as it represented the first collaborative project undertaken by senior welfare centers affiliated with the Woosung Nanum Foundation.
The project officially began with the first working-level meeting held on April 7.

On the first day, participants visited Jinamgwan in Yeosu, followed by tours of Gosodae and Opodae, where they experienced firsthand the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the history of the Joseon navy.
They then traveled to Wando, exploring Chungmusa and Wolsongdae to reflect on the meaning of patriotic spirit. In addition, at the Chonnam National University Marine Biology Research and Education Center, a business agreement was signed to promote a culture of sharing, and participants discussed ways to build networks for community collaboration and welfare.
On the second day, the itinerary concluded with visits to Byeokpajeong and Uldolmok in Jindo, the Admiral Yi Sun-sin statue, the Haenam Myeongnyang Naval Battle Memorial Exhibition Hall, and the Haenam Chungmusa.
The theory lectures and field trip arrangements for this humanities program were overseen by Kim Jongwon, Director of the Jangseong County Senior Welfare Center.
