Security Heightened Ahead of June 3 Election... Jeonnam Police Launch 'Integrated Election Security Situation Room'
24-Hour Emergency Readiness System Activated
The Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency has entered a 24-hour election security system ahead of the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections scheduled for June 3.
On May 21, the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency held the opening ceremony of the 'Integrated Election Security Situation Room' and announced the official start of its election security operations.
The situation room will operate around the clock until the vote counting is fully completed, managing election-related security matters in real time. The main work includes maintaining order at campaign sites, protecting candidates and key figures, escorting ballot boxes, and providing security at polling and counting stations.

From the official start of the election campaign on this day until the morning of election day, the Jeonnam police have issued a 'heightened alert' directive, requiring all officers to maintain an emergency communication system.
During the early voting period on May 29 and 30, the agency plans to implement the 'Byungho Emergency' level, further strengthening security measures. On election day, June 3, the highest level of police emergency duty, known as 'Gapho Emergency', will be in effect until vote counting concludes.
During the Gapho Emergency period, all officers' leave is suspended and all available personnel are mobilized. The police have announced their intention to make every effort to ensure election security and respond to unexpected incidents.
