He continued, "We must not settle for small tasks, but rather prepare a grand vision for the future of Geochang," declaring, "I, Lee Honggi, will fulfill that role."
As his main pledges, Lee outlined plans to foster future strategic industries such as AI, robotics, and drones, presenting his vision to transform Geochang into a test-bed city for the industries of the future.
He remarked, "While these fields may seem unfamiliar, it is crucial to take on challenges that no one else has attempted," adding, "I will nurture strategic industries as new growth engines for Geochang."
For the development of the Gajo region, he announced plans to resume efforts to attract a pumped-storage power plant and to implement a 'comprehensive energy pension income project' that links solar, wind, and small hydro power generation, aiming to create a stable income base for residents.
Regarding the Gajo Hot Springs, which have been neglected for nearly 30 years, Lee proposed attracting private investment to redevelop the site into the largest global hot spring theme park in southern Korea.
In the agricultural sector, he presented a vision to shift from production-centered agriculture to a future-oriented model focused on sales and distribution by expanding smart farms, establishing a future agriculture strategy research institute, and introducing a farm machinery delivery service.
He also announced pledges for young people and newlyweds. Lee emphasized his intention to solve childcare, housing, and employment issues by establishing an all-day care system and providing half-priced rental housing, creating an environment where young people can settle in Geochang.
Additionally, to strengthen welfare for the elderly, he promised to expand support for returning driver's licenses, increase free shingles vaccinations for those aged 70 and older, and adjust funding for senior centers to reflect actual needs.
To revitalize the local economy, Lee pledged to create a public taxi parking lot, establish a multi-purpose cultural plaza, and boost the stone industry. In the field of education, he promised to offer free meals during school vacations and to run student debate programs.
Lee appealed for voters' support by stating, "I will usher in a new era for Geochang over the next 30 years, transforming it into a central city in northwestern Gyeongnam. Please give me the opportunity to work so that residents can feel the change of a revitalized Geochang."
