Electrolyte company Enchem is set to expand its supply cooperation with CATL, the world's largest battery company.
Enchem announced that CATL is currently conducting client audits at its first and second plants in China, and the company is inspecting its mass production response system with the aim of commencing supply by the end of the second quarter. The company is focusing on securing supply stability in areas such as quality, production, and logistics.
Enchem is strengthening its responsiveness to major clients based on a global production network that connects North America, Europe, China, and Korea. In line with the strengthening of supply chain localization policies such as the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the European Net-Zero Industry Act, the company is also expanding its local production systems.
The company expects electrolyte demand to increase due to the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and the growth of the global energy storage system (ESS) market. Industry observers are paying attention to the possibility that Enchem's supply volume will also increase in phases, in line with CATL's global battery production expansion.
