Jeong Wono, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, chose the Dong Seoul Postal Distribution Center as the starting point for his 13-day election campaign journey.
At midnight on the 21st, marking the official start of the June 3 local election campaign, Jeong Wono, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, visited the Dong Seoul Postal Distribution Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. View original imageAt midnight on the official campaign kickoff day, the 21st, Jeong visited the Dong Seoul Postal Distribution Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and stated, "In order to reliably support the daily lives and livelihoods of our citizens, we need to stand on a secure foundation. I, Jeong Wono, will do my utmost to ensure that Seoul is built on such a secure foundation."
Jeong wore a blue postal worker uniform and sorted parcels for about 20 minutes. Democratic Party leader Chung Cheongrae also participated in the work that day.
He explained that he chose the Dong Seoul Postal Distribution Center as his first campaign destination because "for citizens to live their daily lives in peace and pursue their own paths, someone must deliver news and provide the necessary goods." He added, "Election campaign materials are also delivered to households from this place, so I wanted to express my gratitude to those who work hard because of us."
Party leader Chung Cheongrae remarked, "I thought this would be a meaningful place, as it symbolizes delivering the future of the Republic of Korea."
Regarding the Seoul mayoral race, Jeong stated, "Regardless of poll results, the Seoul mayoral election will be extremely close," adding, "I am doing my best at every moment, approaching this campaign with sincerity and earnestness."
