Korea Game Industry Association Discusses Game Industry Development in Daegu-Gyeongbuk Region
Regional Cooperation Activities Following the Chungcheong Region’s Initiative
The Korea Game Industry Association announced on May 20 that it held the "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Region Field Communication Exchange Meeting for the Development of the Game Industry" at the Daegu Content Business Center.

View original imageThis event was organized as part of efforts to activate the local game ecosystem and was held as a follow-up to last month's meeting in the Chungcheong region. The focus was on building a close-knit cooperation network at the regional level and exploring directions for joint development with game companies operating in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area. The meeting began with a briefing on current issues, followed by introductions to major projects of organizations in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, and discussions centered on talent recruitment, regional specialization, and linking commercialization and investment.
The event was attended by key figures from related organizations, including Lee Jaekwang, Head of Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency; Kim Yoohyun, Head of Gyeongbuk Technopark; and Lee Junghoon, President of the Gyeongbuk Game Content Industry Association. Also in attendance was Assemblyman Kim Seungsoo, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee. From the corporate sector, participants included Lim Kihyun, CEO of 96 Percent; Lee Myungseop, CEO of Nine Digit; Lee Jeho, Head of Downpour; Lee Jehwan, CEO of Dream Idea Soft; Park Hansoo, Director of Raon Entertainment; Ryu Jisoo, CEO of Wondersoft; and Byun Junho, Head of COG.
Assemblyman Kim Seungsoo stated, "The Daegu-Gyeongbuk region is an area with infinite potential, bringing together outstanding game talent infrastructure and creative companies. The National Assembly will do its utmost to promote the game industry through legislative and budgetary efforts, such as specifying support provisions for 'regional game companies,' so that local game firms can close the gap with the Seoul metropolitan area and secure global competitiveness."

Jo Youngki, President of the Association, said, "Following the Chungcheong region, we were able to witness the passion of those working hard for the development of the regional game industry in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area as well. The Association will continue active communication with the local game industry, aiming for mutual growth."
