"Stronger Summer Ahead"... LG Whisen Air Conditioners Run Production Line at Full Capacity Amid Early Heatwave
Changwon Air Conditioner Production Lines Running at Full Capacity Since April
Double-Digit Growth in Whisen Stand Air Conditioner Sales
LG Electronics is operating its air conditioner production line at full capacity in response to the early arrival of hot weather. Sales volumes are also on the rise, thanks to the addition of artificial intelligence (AI) features, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) strategy, and growing subscription popularity.
On May 20, LG Electronics announced that its air conditioner production line in Changwon, Gyeongnam, has been running at full capacity since last month to meet the increased demand caused by the heat wave. In particular, average temperatures in June and July are forecast to be higher than usual this year.

The product breaks the stereotype that air conditioners have relatively limited dehumidification performance by allowing independent control and maintenance of humidity while cooling at the desired temperature.
The company has also broadened the range of choices available to customers. Since its successful market launch in 2024, the Whisen View series has expanded to six models, including the value-oriented 'LG Whisen AI Objet Collection View I,' and is currently in production. The Whisen Cool series, first introduced last year, has also been expanded this year with the launch of 'Whisen Cool Pro,' which allows for easy airflow control.
Sales volumes continue to rise. Sales of LG Whisen stand air conditioners have increased by double digits year-on-year so far this month, showing strong performance. During the same period, sales of air conditioners equipped with AI features also rose compared to last year.
LG Electronics is also steadily expanding D2C and subscription sales, which are among its core businesses for accelerating qualitative growth. This month, direct sales and subscription sales of air conditioners through the LG Electronics Online Brand Shop (OBS) increased by more than 50% and 20%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Since last month, LG Electronics has been conducting more than three live broadcasts per month through its online brand shop. The live broadcast held on May 12 attracted a total of 400,000 viewers, with a peak of 17,000 concurrent viewers, demonstrating high customer interest. The company has built strong trust with customers through professional installation services and transparent installation costs, both of which are important factors for air conditioner buyers.
Throughout May, LG Electronics is running the 'LG Whisen Sensale' event on its online brand shop, offering benefits such as an additional 2% discount coupon for air conditioners and an app-exclusive coupon pack.
