Beginners Born in 1987 or Later... Wooicheon Course

Gangbuk-gu in Seoul is recruiting participants for the "2nd Youth Running Crew" from May 20 to May 29 to promote youth health and help establish exercise habits in daily life. The second round is being organized following the enthusiastic response to the first round, which closed after just two days in April.

The program targets beginners born in 1987 or later who are starting to run for the first time and reside in Gangbuk-gu. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the integrated reservation program on the Gangbuk-gu Office website.

Selected participants will join the running program every Tuesday from June 9 to June 30, for one hour starting at 7:30 p.m., held at the Gangbuk-gu Public Health Center and along the Wooicheon Stream area. Under the guidance of professional instructors, the program will offer step-by-step training tailored to beginners, including running form correction, repeated jogging practice, and breathing and pace control exercises.

To help participants maintain their exercise habits beyond a one-time activity, the district will also support an exclusive online community for the running crew. The community will share regular running schedules and encourage voluntary participation, with the aim of ensuring continued exercise even after the program ends. In the second half of the year, the district plans to expand customized programs to include middle-aged and older adults as well.

Lee Soonhee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "We will continue to expand various daily sports programs so that everyone can start exercising without burden and maintain it consistently."
