Korea Music Copyright Association Hosts Teachers' Day Event for Senior Musicians
Plaques of Appreciation Awarded to 10 Senior Musicians Including 98-Year-Old Song Jaecheol

View original imageThe Korea Music Copyright Association announced on May 19 that it held an event inviting senior musicians at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, on May 18 in celebration of Teachers' Day.
The event was organized to express gratitude to senior artists who have laid the foundation for the growth of music culture and the copyright market. More than 200 senior members aged 65 and older attended the event. The program included the presentation of carnations, an opening address, guidance on welfare pensions, and a plaque of appreciation ceremony.
This year, plaques of appreciation were awarded to 10 senior musicians, including 98-year-old Song Jaecheol, as well as Choi Youngseop, Kim Sunguk, Kim Boksun, Jeon Seokhwan, Lim Ilnam, Kim Wangi, Kim Bangok, Han Myunghee, and Shin Honggi. Artist Song stated, "This is a meaningful occasion for me as a musician," and added, "I hope that junior creators will be able to work in a better environment."

Lee Shiha, Chairman of the Korea Music Copyright Association, emphasized, "The Association has grown on the dedication of senior musicians," and stressed, "Honoring their contributions is a responsibility the Association must uphold." He went on to say, "It is meaningful that we have established a new incentive for senior creators to provide a creative foundation," and announced, "We will expand our welfare programs."
