The Capital City Walls of Hanyang, constructed to defend Hanyang, the capital during the Joseon Dynasty, is a heritage site that connects Bukhansanseong Fortress, Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall), and Tangchundaeseong Fortress into a single entity.
Approximately 30 participants, including Goyang citizens and members of the Bukhansanseong Supporters group who share the goal of World Heritage inscription, took part in this field survey. The leader of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's World Heritage Inscription Team, who is working with Goyang City to promote the inscription, led the event.
During the survey, participants received a professional on-site explanation of the monitoring principles used to assess the vegetation environment and the changes occurring in the walls of Bukhansanseong Fortress.
Additionally, participants walked "The Path of King Sukjong," which stretches from Daeseomun Gate to Sanyeongnu Pavilion and Haenggungji Site, taking time to deepen their understanding of the historical background embedded in this section.
Furthermore, members of the Bukhansanseong Supporters group, who have consistently devoted themselves to preserving the Bukhansanseong area, enhanced the event by conducting environmental cleanup activities along the Path of King Sukjong.
