Baek Younghyun, Pocheon Mayoral Candidate, Announces Pledge for "Garden City for Recovery in Nature"
Baek Younghyun, the People Power Party's candidate for mayor of Pocheon, announced his pledge to promote the creation of a "Garden City for Recovery in Nature," aimed at providing citizens with spaces for daily rest and rejuvenation.
This pledge focuses on developing an "urban garden city closely integrated with daily life," so that all citizens can enjoy healthy relaxation and nature near their homes.
First, Baek Younghyun expressed his intention to establish the "Barefoot Red Clay Healing Road," which would connect the Hantan River with the city center. The idea is to expand healing spaces and promote health among citizens through walking in nature and barefoot experiences.
He also announced plans to enhance access to green spaces by creating garden-type healing rest areas using vacant homes and neglected spaces near residential areas, so that greenery can be easily accessed anywhere in the city. The plan includes building green infrastructure closely integrated with daily life, enabling residents to enjoy walking and relaxation close to home.
He further revealed plans to expand customized theme gardens for different generations. This includes increasing the number of hub-type theme gardens, such as the "Health & Longevity Garden" for senior citizens and the "Kids' Forest Garden" for children.
There are also plans to operate psychological recovery programs for adolescents and office workers. The "Emotional Care Forest Vacation Program" for teenagers aims to support emotional stability and stress relief, while the "Burnout Recovery Garden Program" for office workers is intended to help restore mental health and improve quality of life.
