Progress in Local Supply Chain Entry and Follow-up Export Achievements
As the Chinese automobile market undergoes a rapid generational shift, with new energy vehicles (NEVs), including electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), accounting for up to 48% of sales, Korean auto parts companies are accelerating their entry into local niche markets. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 18th that it held the "Korea-China Auto Parts Export Consultation" in Changchun, a hub for the Chinese automobile industry, on the 14th.

KOTRA invited 15 of the core first-tier suppliers, including FAW Group, one of China's largest finished car manufacturers, to support export consultations with 14 domestic auto parts companies.
As part of the "2026 Promising Regional Trade Delegation," which dispatches companies in future industrial sectors to strategic regions, this event featured new cooperation consultations in areas such as energy-saving solutions for electric vehicles and climate control systems. It also provided an opportunity for follow-up discussions and sharing of success stories among domestic companies that have been pursuing cooperation with local automakers and key vendors.
DSP, a manufacturer of colored stainless steel for automotive interiors and exteriors, has signed annual regular export contracts worth approximately 2.8 million dollars with four companies—including M Group, the global leader in the automotive interior and exterior market—since 2021. The company is also continuously working to enter the FAW Group supply chain with KOTRA's support.
Suresoft, a company specializing in automotive software, has, through this project, continued to make technological proposals to Hongqi, the premium finished car brand of FAW Group, over the past three years. As a result, Suresoft has won two projects to supply vehicle safety verification software worth a total of 250,000 dollars.
EZ Techron, which deals in wiring harness connectors, exported goods worth 700,000 dollars last year to Company J, a global first-tier vendor headquartered in Changchun. Follow-up contract negotiations are ongoing this year, and an additional export agreement worth 850,000 dollars is expected in the near future.
Meanwhile, prior to the export consultation, the "Korea-China Mobility Supply Chain Forum" was held, where a FAW representative gave a presentation on the company's future vehicle projects, procurement needs, and policies.

Jae Won Hwang, Head of KOTRA's China Regional Headquarters, stated, "Although the self-sustaining automotive supply chain ecosystem in China is quite robust, there are still niche opportunities in electronics, software, and lightweighting amid the transition to future vehicles such as EVs. We will actively support our future vehicle parts companies to increase exports to the Chinese market through cooperation."
