Icheon City Mobilizes All Departments for Successful Hosting of the 25th Icheon Rice Culture Festival
To Be Held at Bokhacheon Waterfront Park from October 14 to 18
Full-Scale Preparations Underway for Parking and Rest Areas
Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province has begun full-scale preparations for the successful hosting of the 25th Icheon Rice Culture Festival, which will take place in October, by concentrating the capabilities of its relevant departments.
Following the completion of the festival’s master plan in April, the city has established a close cooperation system among related departments since May and is accelerating on-site, field-centered preparations.
This year’s festival will be relocated to Bokhacheon Waterfront Park to enhance accessibility and safety for visitors. Accordingly, the city is intensifying on-site inspections from May and has drawn up plans to develop infrastructure optimized for the new location.
To accommodate large crowds, the city plans to secure approximately 3,000 parking spaces both near the event site and on its outskirts. For visitors coming from the city center, shuttle bus routes connecting Icheon Station and City Hall will be carefully arranged, and a mini train will be operated for those using remote parking lots to significantly improve access to the venue.
To address potential shortages of rest areas due to the characteristics of the waterfront park, the city will install a significant number of shade canopies and tent-style shelters throughout the venue. In particular, picnic spaces and unique rest areas will be created for families, ensuring visitors can enjoy the festival comfortably under the autumn sun by building the necessary infrastructure.
For the safety of citizens moving between parking lots and the event venue across the Bokhacheon Stream, safety personnel will be stationed at all times to prevent falls, and lighting facilities will be enhanced to ensure safe movement even at night.

The city will establish a safety management plan for the venue at an early stage and develop countermeasures to minimize traffic congestion through cooperation with relevant agencies.
A festival official stated, "Although there are still five months left until the festival, we are meticulously reviewing potential inconveniences for citizens from the early stages, especially given the significant change in location. We are breaking down barriers between departments and communicating smoothly to ensure visitors can enjoy the festival without inconvenience regarding parking and rest areas."
