Ahn Minseok Unites Democratic Progressives: “Will Build Gyeonggi’s Future Education for the AI Era”
Ahn Minseok, Gyeonggi Superintendent Candidate, Launches Democratic Progressive "One Team" Campaign Committee
Seong Kiseon, Park Hyojin, Song Seongyeong, and Kim Okseong Appointed as Permanent Campaign Co-Chairs
Ahn Minseok, the unified candidate from the Democratic Progressive faction for Gyeonggi Province Superintendent of Education, held a kickoff ceremony for the election campaign committee at the campaign office in Paldal District, Suwon, on the 16th, announcing the launch of a large-scale unified election campaign committee for the Democratic Progressive camp.

View original imageKim Sang-gon, former Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs, was named as the head of the support committee; Moon Hee-sang, former Speaker of the National Assembly; Won Hae-young, former National Assembly member; Cho Hee-yeon, former Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education; and Jeon Seong-eun, former Chairperson of the Presidential Committee on Education Innovation, were appointed as permanent advisors. Lee Jae-jeong, former Superintendent of Gyeonggi Province Office of Education; Kim Sang-gon, former Deputy Prime Minister; Kim Jin-pyo, former Speaker of the National Assembly; Professor Kim Nu-ri; and Professor Kim Joungho from KAIST, serve as co-heads of the mentor group.
Seong Ki-seon and Park Hyo-jin, who previously ran in the Democratic Progressive primary for this Gyeonggi Province Superintendent election, along with Song Seong-yeong, the head of the Gyeonggi Education Innovation Solidarity, and Kim Ok-seong, the head of the Education Hope Network, will serve as permanent co-chairs of the campaign committee.
Additionally, the Candidate's Gyeonggi Education Transformation Committee is expected to oversee policy and vision under the leadership of Lee Geon, CEO of Smartphone Free, as well as Park Hyo-jin and Seong Ki-seon as permanent committee chairs.
At the event, Kim Sang-gon, head of the support committee, said in his congratulatory remarks, "Seong Ki-seon and Park Hyo-jin, the permanent campaign co-chairs, are people who have brought about innovative education together," adding, "Ahn Minseok is the right candidate to achieve forward-looking innovative education and education transformation."
Park Hyo-jin, permanent campaign co-chair, said, "I have talked with candidate Ahn Minseok about restoring teachers' authority and putting an end to competitive education," and added, "Ahn Minseok is a candidate with the strength to accomplish this."
Seong Ki-seon, permanent campaign co-chair, stated, "Gyeonggi education has led education in Korea, but over the past four years, it has significantly regressed," and continued, "Let today be the starting point for reviving Gyeonggi education and transforming education in Korea. Let us work together to make this happen."

Ahn said, "With children, parents, and teachers all unhappy, our education system has moved beyond the stage where it can simply be repaired." He emphasized, "Changing Gyeonggi Province and sparking an educational revolution in Korea is a mission for our time."
He went on to say, "An educational revolution is needed to create an education system suited for the AI era," raising his voice to add, "Let us all push ahead with an educational revolution for a Korea where teachers are happy, children are happy, and parents are no longer tormented by the burdens of private education—a happy, hopeful Korea with a vibrant future for our children."

In closing, Ahn said, "Let us work together so that, four years from now, children will look forward to going to school, and ten years from now, our children will be freed from the shackles of brutal competition." He concluded, "Let Ahn Minseok be your tool for educational revolution. If there is work to be done, if someone must take the lead in this educational revolution, Ahn Minseok will be at the forefront."
