M Plus Achieves 10.2 Billion Won Operating Profit in Q1... Expands Growth in ESS and Prismatic Battery Equipment
M Plus continued its solid growth in the first quarter of this year, driven by expanding equipment supply focused on overseas markets.
On May 15, M Plus announced through a public disclosure that its consolidated revenue for the first quarter reached 51 billion won, with an operating profit of 10.2 billion won.
The company identified the expansion of sales in prismatic battery assembly equipment and ESS (Energy Storage System) equipment for overseas markets as the key drivers of this performance improvement.
As the global energy transition accelerates and demand for power from AI data centers increases, the ESS market is experiencing rapid growth. M Plus explained that, amid this expanding market, it has achieved both revenue growth and improved profitability by increasing the supply of high-value-added products, such as prismatic form factor assembly equipment and ultra-high-speed notching equipment.
The company emphasized that, after achieving an annual operating margin of 13.3% last year and establishing a management system focused on profitability, it has continued to deliver stable profit flows in the first quarter of this year as well.
M Plus is also accelerating efforts to strengthen its technological competitiveness. The company already possesses manufacturing technologies for secondary battery assembly process equipment capable of handling various form factors, including pouch-type, prismatic, and all-solid-state batteries.
Additionally, by establishing a lineup of electrode process equipment, M Plus has secured a turn-key system that covers the entire production process for all-solid-state batteries.
In particular, the company is evaluated as having secured a competitive advantage in the race to preempt future markets, as it now provides one-stop support from pilot line construction to mass production for global battery manufacturers.
M Plus plans to actively respond to new demand, including batteries for robots and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To this end, it is also pushing forward with the establishment of an all-solid-state battery assembly equipment line tailored for the Physical AI era.
