Eight Consortia Selected; 23 Companies Participate
AI Semiconductor Demonstrations to Be Conducted in Six Countries Including Indonesia and New Zealand
Establishing Demonstration Foundations Followed by On-Site Operations

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on May 15 that it has selected new projects for the "Overseas Demonstration Support for AI Semiconductors" program, aimed at supporting domestic artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor companies in their entry into overseas markets, and held a kick-off briefing session.

This program was first planned last year to help Korean AI semiconductor companies accumulate local demonstration cases. This is because overseas companies often require actual field application references when adopting Korean AI solutions.

The consortia of AI semiconductor and service companies participating in the program will conduct demonstrations over a two-year period. In the first year, the focus will be on establishing a demonstration foundation, including AI semiconductor optimization, localization of AI solutions, and installation of local demonstration sites. In the second year, they will operate AI semiconductor and service packages on site and build up performance records.

The first-year projects carried out last year achieved results from the initial stages of local demonstration. LBS Tech won the top innovation award at "CES 2026," the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, based on the demonstration results of its "Wheelchair Safety Navigation Service." Vernect signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Mongolian Customs General Administration through the demonstration of its "Customs Administration Work Support Solution."

This year, eight newly selected consortia will conduct demonstrations based on domestic AI semiconductors in a wide range of sectors—including control, manufacturing, and agriculture—across six countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and New Zealand. The lead organizations of the consortia are: GreenBlue, Deokseong, Nuriinfos, Nota, Megazone Cloud, PiaSpace, Brainworks, and Daon Inc.

At the kick-off briefing session held on this day, representatives from 23 companies belonging to the eight newly selected consortia attended to share their implementation plans and discuss business operation directions.

The Ministry of Science and ICT will actively reflect the opinions of companies raised during last year's demonstration process. If additional demand arises in neighboring countries during the project, the scope of demonstration countries can be expanded. The ministry also plans to incorporate suggestions from companies to flexibly set performance criteria so that they are more realistic for ongoing project management.

Park Taewan, Director General of Information and Communication Industry Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "Last year, we began to see tangible results in the overseas export of packages combining AI semiconductors and services through this program," adding, "We will thoroughly support all stages of the program, so that the excellent references secured by this year's selected companies can serve as a powerful catalyst for their entry into overseas markets."
