A golf course is transforming into a venue for a global Hallyu festival. On May 30, Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, will host the Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert. First launched in 2000, this year marks its 22nd edition. The cumulative audience has exceeded 620,000 people. It is Korea's first and only free charity green concert held at a golf course. All proceeds raised through the bazaar and food sales are donated to help underprivileged neighbors. The total amount of accumulated donations has reached approximately 730 million won.
The lineup is impressive. Jang Minho, Son Taejin, Super Junior L.S.S. (Leeteuk, Shindong, Siwon), Baek Jiyoung, Jung Dongha, Ali, Heo Yongbyeol (Huh Gak, Shin Yongjae, Lim Hanbyul), DinDin, Even, NaouZ, Billie, Say My Name and others are donating their talents. In addition, R.ef, Noise, Kim Changyeol, Park Gun, Billie, Park Haki, Lee Chihyun and more will be joining the event. The event will be hosted by comedian couple Park Miseon and Lee Bongwon. Thai musician Boom Saharat will also perform on stage.
A variety of events will also take place. Admission opens at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the concert. The opening performance (EDM Challenge) begins at 5 p.m., followed by the main concert at 6 p.m. Those who arrive at the golf course early can enjoy a magic show, air bounce, ssireum (Korean wrestling), face painting, and a dance challenge. Jeon Mira's Tennis Academy will also be held. Generous prizes such as OLED TVs, airline tickets, and hotel accommodation vouchers will be given away through a raffle.
A Daebo Group representative said, "This year as well, performers from a variety of genres including K-POP, trot, dance, ballad, and folk will take the stage. We have been able to continue the charity concert for over 26 years thanks to the consideration of our members and golfers who have put up with the inconveniences."
