Daegu Metropolitan City and the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Park Yoonkyung) have signed agreements with companies selected for the "2026 Support Project for Enhancing Competitiveness of Small Manufacturers’ Products and Technologies." They have begun supporting 10 promising small businesses and startups chosen to lead innovation in the region’s manufacturing sector.
The companies selected this year are: S포텍 (automation machinery design), HDB Global Co., Ltd. (printing processing), WJ Co., Ltd. (pet food), Hwajin (display-type door locks), Lifta Co., Ltd. (health functional foods), BPK Co., Ltd. (industrial packaging machines), Tocos Co., Ltd. (predictive maintenance technology for equipment), Pumax Co., Ltd. (road safety products and de-icing agents), Garnet Dentek Co., Ltd. (dental medical devices), and GenticX Co., Ltd.—a total of 10 companies.
This year, in line with the era of AI-driven transformation, the focus was on discovering companies capable of digital transformation in manufacturing and with potential for future industry growth. Notably, among the selected companies are those with differentiated potential based on technologies related to Daegu’s five new strategic industries, including ABB (AI, Big Data, Blockchain), robotics, and healthcare, generating high expectations.
The support program for small manufacturers, funded by Daegu Metropolitan City, has been implemented since 2019 and has supported a total of 69 companies to date. The program targets small manufacturers (manufacturing businesses with fewer than 10 regular employees) and manufacturing startups (within 7 years of establishment) in the region, providing commercialization support such as prototype production, expert consulting, and intellectual property applications.
