The development will combine exhibition and convention facilities, a sports complex, waterfront leisure facilities, and facilities for work, culture, and commerce. Sono International plans to operate the 5-star hotel within this complex, providing services optimized for both tourists and visitors to MICE events.
If appointed as the final operator, Sono International will launch its 5-star hotel brand, 'Sono Calm,' at the site. The planned 'Sono Calm Seoul Jamsil' is set to open in 2032 and will feature 288 guest rooms, a variety of food and beverage outlets, banquet halls, a business center, an infinity pool, a fitness center, and a public observatory overlooking the Han River. This will mark the first time the Sono Hotel & Resort brand is applied to a property in Seoul. The company has announced plans to expand its commissioned hotel operation business to other major urban areas, including Seoul, in the future.
Currently, Sono International operates various leisure facilities in 21 regions across Korea, including approximately 12,000 hotel and resort rooms, water parks, golf courses, ski resorts, and equestrian centers. Internationally, since the commencement of the Sono Felice CC Hai Phong in Vietnam in 2019, the company has expanded to the United States, France, Hawaii, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan, currently operating a total of 22 hotels and resorts. By adding 12 more hotels in Thailand, Indonesia, and other locations between the second half of this year and 2029, the company aims to build a global portfolio of 55 hotels and resorts with approximately 16,000 rooms.
