SK Energy to Provide Up to 20 Billion Won per Month in Support to SK Gas Stations Nationwide
Support for Over 2,500 SK Gas Stations
Until the End of the Maximum Price Policy
On May 10, SK Energy announced that it will provide up to 20 billion won per month in "High Oil Price and Crisis Overcoming Support Funds" to approximately 2,500 SK gas stations nationwide, excluding directly operated locations.
This initiative aims to support SK gas stations across the country that are struggling with business difficulties due to the ongoing high oil price situation. As volatility in the energy industry has intensified, more than 80 locations have suspended or closed operations over the past two months.
The support period will cover sales occurring from midnight on March 13, when the first maximum price policy was implemented, until the policy’s termination in the future.
SK Energy plans to complete the delivery of the first round of support funds for March and April as early as this month, following internal review and related procedures.
The funds will be distributed through both a volume-linked support system and a fixed-amount method. Some of the support will be provided using "Onnuri gift certificates," which are a policy tool for supporting small business owners, and are expected to help revitalize local economies.
SK Energy expects that the provision of these support funds will help alleviate operational difficulties faced by gas stations, reduce instability in domestic energy supply and demand, and contribute to a stable supply of petroleum products.
