Youth Sports Fever Unfolds in Gijang... Major Events of Youth and Students with Disabilities Sports Festivals to Be Held

Gijang County will serve as a major venue for the National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities and the National Youth Sports Festival, both of which will be held in Busan.
On May 8, Gijang County announced that the main events of the 20th National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities and the 55th National Youth Sports Festival will take place throughout the county.
The National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities will be held from May 12 to 15, and the National Youth Sports Festival will take place across Busan from May 23 to 26. The opening ceremony for the sports festival for students with disabilities will be held on May 12 at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, while the opening ceremony for the youth sports festival will be held on May 22 at BEXCO Exhibition Center II.
In Gijang County, a variety of sporting events will be held, taking advantage of its excellent sports infrastructure. During the National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities, four events will be featured: disc golf, rowing, football, and table tennis.
At the National Youth Sports Festival, four competitions—football, baseball, table tennis, and triathlon—will take place, with passionate competition among young athletes from all over the country unfolding against the backdrop of Gijang's mountains and sea.
This nationwide sports event is expected to provide youth athletes from across Korea with an opportunity to showcase their skills and build friendships, while also invigorating local sports and promoting Gijang County's reputation as a sports and tourism city throughout the country.
Jung Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, stated, "We will do our utmost to prepare for and operate the event so that future sports talent can fully demonstrate their abilities," adding, "We will actively support the athletes and visitors so that they can compete and enjoy the event in a safe and comfortable environment."
