22 Days of Performances at Gyeongju Arts Center in July

The 17th "Korea National and Public Theater Festival in Gyeongju," hosted by Gyeongju City and organized by the Gyeongju Municipal Arts Troupe and the Korea National and Public Theater Association, will be held at the Gyeongju Arts Center from July 2 to July 23, 2026.
This year's festival will feature a relay of performances, starting with the Gyeongju Municipal Theater Company's "The Wooden Puppet Without Strings." A total of seven national and public theater troupes from across the country—including Gangwon Province Theater Company, National Theater Company of Korea, Gyeongsan Municipal Theater, Pohang Municipal Theater Company, Incheon Municipal Theater Company, and Jeonju Municipal Theater Company—will present works showcasing a wide range of genres and unique characteristics.

View original imageSince its inception in 2010, the Korea National and Public Theater Festival has been a leading performing arts festival, expanding the diversity and artistry of Korean theater through exchanges among national and public theater troupes nationwide.
In particular, this year's lineup consists of performances that balance artistic merit and popular appeal, making it an accessible stage not only for theater enthusiasts but also for citizens and tourists experiencing theater for the first time.
Choi Hyukjun, acting mayor of Gyeongju, remarked, "It is a meaningful festival where you can enjoy high-quality performances by outstanding national and public theater troupes from across the country right here in Gyeongju. I hope many citizens and tourists will enjoy it together."
Tickets for the performances can be reserved starting May 8, 2026, and are available online through the Gyeongju Arts Center website and Ticketlink.
Admission is 5,000 won for all seats, with a discounted group rate of 3,000 won per person (a 40% discount).
